PORAL® is the name given to high strength porous materials manufactured typically from metallic powders using appropriate sintering techniques.  Typically materials are stainless steel, AISI 316L or 304L and bronze 90/10.  Other materials such as Inconel 600 Mono 400 and Hastelloy X are also used. The filtration levels of up to 1.5 micron in liquids and 0.5 microns in gas are achieved.  They can be used at high temperatures (up to 600° C), where mechanical strength is important, and are corrosion resistant.
